Pastel Ollie

Hi!

Another pastel today. This time it's not my cat, but British comedian Ricky Gervais'.

We went to his show last night and 2 hours before we were supposed to leave home to go, I decided it would be fun to draw his beloved cat Ollie so I could try to give it to him.

I managed to finish the drawing just in time and eventually gave it to the head of security who said he would pass it on.

I can only hope he actually did that!

I used PanPastel and Derwent pastel pencils on PastelMat for this drawing.

Pastel Spooky

Hello!

Today I want to show you my second pastel drawing.

This one is of our middle cat, Spooky.

I found it very challenging to create black fur. Not completely satisfied with the result, but not too bad.

I created it with PanPastel and Derwent pastel pencils on PastelMat.

Tiddly Inks July challenge

Rock Wryn

Hi!

Last week I went to P!nk in concert, what an amazing experience! I loved every second of it!

Anyway, when I saw this new Tiddly Inks stamp, I just HAD to color it and was inspired by that concert.

Cheeks - R22, R20

Hair - RV69, RV19, RV29, RV25, RV23

Guitar - BG49, BG15, BG23, BG11, white gel pen 

Longsleeve/ tights - V09, V17, V15, V12

Dress/ shoes - 100, N8, N6, N4

Stage - N6, N5, N4, N3

The background is done with Distress Oxide ink. 

I need to try that again some time, as it didn't turn out quite how I would have liked.

Pastel Tommie

Hello!

A few weeks ago, I was at a realistic coloring workshop by Dutch artist Julia Woning. 

You could choose between 'regular' colored pencils and pastels.

I decided to go with the pastels as I had never worked with them before.

Maybe I shouldn't have done that though, because at the end of the day I knew I just had to have those materials too!

I had brought a picture of my eldest cat Tommie, so I could try to draw him.

It was so much fun to do!

He really started to come alive on that paper.

I didn't get to finish my work that day, but I ordered the needed materials and yesterday I finally finished the drawing at home.

I used PanPastel and Derwent pastel pencils for this. It was my first time using both products, but I can't wait to use them again!

This saturday I am going to another of Julia's workshops, this time working with acrylic paint..looking forward to it!
